The
Sex Offender Containment and Research Project (S.O.C.R.)
as a grass roots organization, is fortunate to have the
support of Teaching Humane Existence, a not-for-profit
organization dedicated to the safe management of sex offenders.
T.H.E. provides space to meet, a web page, administrative
support, readily available professional staff who are
sex offender specialists and encouragement to the S.O.C.R.
Project.
Following
are the complimentary missions of the Sex Offender Containment
and Research Project & T.H.E.
Sex
Offender Containment and Research Project Mission:
Stand up for community safety from sexual predators.
Sex
Offender Containment and Research Project Goals:
1) Educate the community.
2) Examine components of the criminal justice and legislative
systems related to sexual offenders
3) Hold criminal justice and legislative systems accountable
to the highest level of community safety.
4) Promote the mission of SOCR (Sex Offender Containment
& Research facility)
Teaching
Humane Existences Mission:
1) To manage, evaluate and treat sex offenders with available
resources in the service of helping to protect the community.
2) To determine what is an effective model that can actually
control sex offenders to provide community safety and
provide education so that the model can be established.
The
Sex Offender Containment and Research Project provides
the lion's share of the community education goal which
supports T.H.E. 's mission. The S.O.C.R. Project is a
vehicle for community members who want to be involved
in creating community safety. Thus, T.H.E. gets much of
its 2nd mission addressed through the S.O.C.R. Project.
T.H.E.,
a nonprofit organization, provides the S.O.C.R. Project
financial and material support.
The
Sex Offender Containment and Research Project is its own
organization within the T.H.E. umbrella of services. The
S.O.C.R. Project operates independently from, but in mutual
support of, the T.H.E. board of directors.
